Library Love - The Beginning

Let me try to explain to you my fascination of libraries. First, they are full of books, which you can read... for free! Or just pull off the shelf and flip through and look at pictures and be surrounded by their glory!

It's quiet, gloriously quiet! Which means you can think, and settle down, and breathe deep the book flavored air and finish your thought. There are other people there, who also love books, and therefore understand why you do, but stay silent except for a nod of the head, which is your library club handshake.

And did I mention the book flavored air? Or that they are all free!

Visiting libraries has become a traditional stop on our travels. I love to see what other towns have for a library. Big or small, old building or new, traditional or modern, humble or grand.

I will be sharing with you libraries that I visit, because really, libraries don't get enough love.

Please leave a comment about the libraries you love. Maybe, one day, I'll have the opportunity to visit your favorite library.

  1. Give me a book anytime! I love our library, located in Carterville, IL. It was just built a couple years ago & is wonderful. I can't tell you how much money I've saved between me & my son by reading free books at the library. Plus the room it's saved on our book shelf.

I read my books to get my "me" time. My time away from work & the world. I stare at a computer screen all day & don't want to do it when I read. I like holding the book & turning the pages. I even like the smell of a book. Nothing like a good book!
